Patients can call 800-340-1301 to schedule an appointment
C.A.R.E. stands for “Communities Are Responding Everyday”
C.A.R.E. Clinics are held to highlight the work done everyday in Free and Charitable Clinics across the country to provide access to medical care to the nation's uninsured.
The clinics are designed to turn convention centers or arena floors into the world’s largest doctor’s office for a day. On average, each clinic has over 60 patient exam rooms, testing centers, mental health services, and vision and dental examinations. Each clinic has an average of 900 volunteers, medical and non-medical, and treats an average of 1,000 patients in the eight-hour time frame.
The first C.A.R.E Clinic was held in Houston in September 2009. Since then the NAFC has held additional clinics in New Orleans (three times), LA; Kansas City, MO; Little Rock, AR; Hartford, CT; Atlanta, GA; Charlotte, NC; Washington D.C., Tacoma, WA, and Dallas, TX for a total of 13 C.A.R.E. Clinics that provided free quality medical care to over 16,000 uninsured people with the help of over 14,000 volunteers. These clinics also connect uninsured people to the many resources available to them in their area, including local Free and Charitable Clinics as well as other safety net providers.
These events have been documented by the Dr. Oz Show, Good Morning America, CNN, MSNBC, NBC Nightly News and ABC World News, PARADE Magazine, and additional international, national and local area news outlets.
