ALEXANDRIA, VA--(Marketwired - November 29, 2016) - The National Association of Free & Charitable Clinics (NAFC) is partnering with Henry Schein Medical, the U.S. medical business of Henry Schein, Inc., this #GivingTuesday to provide much needed diabetic supplies to the medically underserved throughout the country.
#GivingTuesday is a global day of giving -- occurring this year on November 29 -- that harnesses the collective power of individuals, communities and organizations to encourage philanthropy and to celebrate generosity worldwide. #GivingTuesday is held annually on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving and the popular shopping events of Black Friday and Cyber Monday to kick-off the holiday giving season and inspire people to give back in impactful ways to the causes they care about.
Henry Schein Medical will match up to $5,000 in donations made to the NAFC this #GivingTuesday by supplying up to $5,000 worth of diabetic testing supplies for our patients.
"We at Henry Schein Medical are honored to partner with NAFC, an organization that shares our commitment to expanding access to care for people and communities in need," said Brad Connett, President, Commercial Group U.S. Medical, Henry Schein. "It is rewarding to know that these diabetes testing products will help NAFC in its efforts to provide much-needed care to its patients. This donation exemplifies the spirit of Henry Schein Cares, our company's global corporate social responsibility program."
"The NAFC is thankful to have a partner like Henry Schein Medical that recognizes the important work being done at America's 1200 Free and Charitable Clinics every day to provide much needed health care to the medically underserved," said NAFC Chief Executive Officer Nicole Lamoureux. "We ask for donations to the NAFC this #GivingTuesday to make this product donation from Henry Schein Medical a reality for our patients, just as our members make access to health care a reality for millions of people across the nation."
Donations can be made at www.nafcclinics.org.
Sharing support of the NAFC on social media is being encouraged by using several hashtags to post why people #believeincaring about the medically underserved throughout the country and encouraging others to #Give4Health this #GivingTuesday, or as the NAFC also refers to it -- #GivingHealthDay.
